History repeats : Learn from it

You don’t have choice”.

Why (and How) HR Needs to Act More Like Marketing

Mark W. Schaefer on Nov 24, 2016 At this point, we all know that company culture plays a pivotal role in companies hurtling into out digital transformations. This is particularly true for the marketing department, which is changing at such a break-neck pace that marketing success now depends heavily on support from HR to identify and train new skillsets. On the flip side, success in HR could use a major assist from marketing, or at least HR professionals who think like marketers. The competition for the best talent is fast and furious and, in many cases, that battleground is the social web. This year, I have been working on an in-depth evaluation of recruiting practices for a Fortune 500 company. It’s clear that an injection of marketing thinking could help lead to the HR transformation th...

6 Reasons To Increase Your Productivity And 5 Steps To Make It Happen

Jan 8, 2017 William Arruda Shared by Forbes The formula for productivity is total output divided by total input. When you can reduce the what it takes to create value, you benefit tremendously. Here are 6 reasons to focus on increasing your productivity. 1. The old metrics are gone. Being in the office. Face time. Showing up on time. Putting in the hours. They no longer impact the impression of great performance. The measure is more firmly linked to output. The more value you create, the more valuable you become. That means you need to understand what is valued by your organization and you must align your actions and quantify your output. 2. Reduce your stress. Does looking at your ‘do-list’ make you feel a lump in your throat or a pain in your gut? Well, everything on your do-list does no...

Artificial Intelligence And HR: The New Wave Of Technology

HR TECHNOLOGY OCTOBER 3, 2016 MEGHAN M. BIRO AIAI AND HRARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCEHRHR TECHNOLOGYHUMAN RESOURCESTECHNOLOGY AND HR It’s no secret that I love technology. From the domination of mobile to the latest in recruitment tools and gamification, and how video and live streaming is having an impact on hiring and training—changes are afoot that many of us couldn’t have imagined 15 or so years ago. And I love it all. The reason this “tech meets HR” marriage is so exciting is how quickly the technology evolution has disrupted HR and enhanced the way HR professionals get things done. Now there’s another big disrupter on the horizon, one that you would be wise to keep your eyes on: Artificial intelligence. What is Artificial Intelligence? In layman’s terms, artificial intelligence (or, AI as ...

Power of One to One – The game changer

It’s a fundamental rule of management that to lead others you need to practice frequent and open communication. It’s certainly a simple idea that sounds good, but yet so many of us don’t actually make it happen at all. Why is having a one-hour meeting once a week so hard? First, we know we’re supposed to have them, but aren’t always sure what makes them productive. We may err on the side of being too unstructured and loose, or have so much on our own plates that it’s not a priority. Here are some ways to be sure that you have a strategic 121 1. Have a schedule and stick to it. How can an unplanned meeting be more important than a planned 121 ? Generally, emergency message, unplanned meet, visit to some place are obstacles as these reasons win over and priority changes ! Think !! Was 121 a ...

What if Age of Superannuation be increased From 60 plus…?

The government raised the retirement age of doctors to 65 years. Doctors anyway continue to practice till the last leg of their life but from government’s perspective, it may wanted to retain the talent pool in Health Service. It’s a growing concern for the government as more than 28 per cent of the central government employees are above 50 years of age. This implies that not only the government will lose experienced high- level personnel but it will even entail un-quantifiable costs as new recruits will require training and on-the-job skills. If professionals such as doctors and lawyers , can continue to work for post 60, then why an’t other professionals be it an engineer, bureaucrat or a administrators do so. The official retirement age was fixed at  58 years or 60 years because at that...
